In this unit, students compose and decompose numbers (“making” and “breaking apart” numbers) to 10 in different ways.

In this unit students will be introduced to geometry by focusing on familiar flat (two-dimensional) shapes. During this unit, students will see and interact with many examples of shapes, and learn to accurately relate what's in their environment to the geometric terms.

In this unit, students answer questions about how many objects there are. Students count out and compare groups within 10 and write numbers to represent how many.

In this unit, students will make sense of multiplication as a way to compare quantities. Students will use this understanding to convert units of measurement and to solve problems about measurement.

In this unit, students will learn to express small and large numbers, from hundredths to hundred-thousands. Students will learn to write tenths and hundredths using decimal notation and to work with whole numbers within 1 million.

In this unit, students will deepen their understanding of how fractions can be composed and decomposed, and learn about operations on fractions.

In this unit, students will deepen their knowledge of fractions. Students will explore the size of fractions, write equivalent fractions, and compare and order fractions with the denominators 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 100.

In this unit, students will learn about factors and multiples and apply their understanding of the area of rectangles. Students will determine if a number between 1 and 100 is prime or composite.

In this unit, students will work on reaching fluency goals for the concepts taught in Kindergarten mathematics: counting and comparing, math in our environment, fluency within five, 10 as a benchmark for 20.

In this unit, students will learn about the concept of area and relate area to multiplication and addition.

In this unit, students will learn about and use the relationship between multiplication and division, place value understanding, and the properties of operations to multiply and divide whole numbers within 100. Students will also represent and solve two-step word problems using the four operations.

In this unit, students will generate and represent length measurement data in halves and fourths of an inch on line plots. In this unit, students will work on reaching fluency goals for the concepts taught in grade 2 mathematics: Fluency within 20 and Measurement, Numbers to 1,000 and Creating and Solving Story Problems.

In this unit, students develop an understanding of equal groups as the foundation for multiplication and division in Grade 3 and beyond. This understanding builds on students' experiences with skip counting and finding the sums of equal addends.
