Course Description
This is unit 5 of 9 units. The sequence of units is available in the Read Me First Materials in each unit.
- Section A: Multiplicative Comparison
In this section, students will learn to compare quantities in terms of multiplication. - Section B: Measurement Conversion
In this section, students will expand their knowledge of units of measurement from earlier grades. Students will relate units of measurement in terms of multiplication: meters to centimeters, meters and kilometers, grams and kilograms, milliliters and liters, ounces and pounds, and seconds, minutes, and hours. Students will solve problems that involve converting a larger unit to a smaller unit. - Section C: Let's Put it to Work
In this section, students will use multiplicative comparison and measurement conversion to solve multi-step problems. Students will also solve problems in geometric contexts. Students will analyze the relationship between the side lengths and perimeter of quadrilaterals and perform unit conversions.
