In this course students will learn the fundamentals of basket weaving, including materials acquisition, planning, and basic weaving skills. This course covers comparative basket construction, advanced materials, and other non-aquatic basket weaving. Participants must have prior experience with basket weaving, with basket weaving 101 preferred. There will be field trips to source weaving materials. Underwater basket weaving following Society for Aquatic Basket Building (SABB) standards. Students taking this class should have at least one year of basket weaving course work, and be SCUBA certified. Field experiences in local lakes and rivers will be available.
