Course Description

The course consists of two units.

In unit 1, students will answer the essential question “How can we slow the flow of energy on Earth to protect vulnerable coastal communities?”. Students will study Thermodynamics in Earth's Systems through the effects of sea level change.
In unit 2, students will answer the essential question “What causes lightning and why are some places safer than others when it strikes?” Students will study the structure and properties of matter through the phenomenon of lighting strikes.
