Course Description

This is unit 3 of 4 units. The sequence of units is available in the Read Me First Materials in each unit. Students will learn to analyze maps to better understand the compelling question and begin to write their own supporting questions. Students will analyze primary sources as a way to understand new vocabulary terms like “liberty”, “melting pot”, refugee, immigrant, internment. Students will dive into primary sources to help them understand the concept of push and pull factors. Students will use primary sources to learn about Japanese internment camps in the United States during the time of World War II.
